An estimable Conservative: Marina Yannakoudakis MEP

It’s time to applaud a Conservative MEP for London, Marina Yannakoudakis. A fine British name. I thank my most prolific supporter for drawing to my attention a letter she wrote, printed in yesterday’s Times. It includes the following gem:

Promoting inexperienced, risk hungry women to boards is not only patronising window dressing, but also a danger to the future prosperity of the companies concerned.

The spirit of Mrs T is alive and well in a number of Conservative politicians. I applaud them all. Maybe I should launch a new award, specifically for the few public figures who talk sense on gender-related matters. Any suggestions as to what the awards might be called? Thatchers?

About Mike Buchanan

I'm a men's human rights advocate, writer, and publisher. My primary focus is leading the political party I launched in 2013, Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them). I still work actively on two campaigns I launched in early 2012, Campaign for Merit in Business and the Anti-Feminism League. In 2014 I launched The Alternative Sexism Project, aiming to raise public understanding that the sexism faced by men and boys has far more grievous consequences than the sexism faced by women and girls.
