My letter to the ‘Radio Times’

I’ve just emailed the following to the Radio Times feedback@radiotimes.com for next week’s Letters page. I don’t see how they could possibly object to it, and I’m hoping it will be their ‘Letter of the Week’. The prize is ‘a compact and stylish iPod, iPhone and iPad dock’, whatever that is.

I am surely not alone in being an admirer of Fiona Bruce, albeit not interested in antiques programmes. The BBC should broadcast an episode of Antiques Roadshow consisting solely of excerpts in which she appears personally, from previous series. I’m sure plenty of viewers – male viewers in particular – would happily sit through a programme consisting of Ms B sharing her knowledge of antiques, or pruning her roses, or walking the dog, or washing the dishes, or… well, just about anything, to be honest. I have only one request for your august publication. If such a programme is ever made, can you please not have Alison Graham review it? I’ve a fair idea what her views on such a programme would be, given that male viewers could be expected to enjoy it. Thank you.

About Mike Buchanan

I'm a men's human rights advocate, writer, and publisher. My primary focus is leading the political party I launched in 2013, Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them). I still work actively on two campaigns I launched in early 2012, Campaign for Merit in Business and the Anti-Feminism League. In 2014 I launched The Alternative Sexism Project, aiming to raise public understanding that the sexism faced by men and boys has far more grievous consequences than the sexism faced by women and girls.
