A nude model’s perspectives on feminism

My thanks to Joanna for bringing to my attention a priceless piece from the Daily Mail of 27 December. Enjoy:

Lady in Red crooner Chris de Burgh’s daughter, former Miss World Rosanna Davison, will appear on the cover of US Playboy, following her nude appearance in its German edition in October. Explaining her motives for disrobing, Ms Davison, 28,  says: ‘One of my big worries over doing Playboy was my responsibility towards women and towards feminism or towards the movement. I decided to do it based on my academic understanding of women’s writing and literature.’ Utter twaddle, but I expect we’d better check it out anyway.

Ms Davison’s statement ‘justifying’ her nude modelling must surely have sent feminists ballistic. Marvellous. We really should present her with a ‘Maggie’ by way of appreciation.

About Mike Buchanan

I'm a men's human rights advocate, writer, and publisher. My primary focus is leading the political party I launched in 2013, Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them). I still work actively on two campaigns I launched in early 2012, Campaign for Merit in Business and the Anti-Feminism League. In 2014 I launched The Alternative Sexism Project, aiming to raise public understanding that the sexism faced by men and boys has far more grievous consequences than the sexism faced by women and girls.
