Male circumcision is male genital mutilation (‘MGM’)

Female circumcision – ‘female genital mutilation’, or ‘FGM’, as feminists invariably term it – is illegal in the UK, and across most of the developed world, which the vast majority of people, including everyone at J4MB, agree is ‘a good thing’. So why isn’t male genital mutilation (‘MGM’) also illegal? Wouldn’t that also be ‘a good thing’? A short but illuminating article on the subject:

In the Jewish community, at least, voices of reason are starting to oppose MGM:

An academic paper, published in 2007, on the impact of MGM:

130726 paper on male circumcision

The paper’s Conclusions:

The glans of the circumcised penis is less sensitive to fine touch than the glans of the uncircumcised penis. The transitional region from the external to the internal prepuce is the most sensitive region of the uncircumcised penis and more sensitive than the most sensitive region of the circumcised penis. Circumcision ablates the most sensitive parts of the penis.

This poses an obvious question – should we add MGM to our public consultation document? Email me at with your thoughts. Thank you.

I remember seeing a programme on TV a few years ago where they showed in close-up graphical detail young boys of a tribe getting circumcised without anaesthetic. They broadcast the programme far earlier than they should, but the worst part was how they covertly conveyed a subliminal-like message that these boys were somehow seen as brave and courageous heroes – the makings of real men! – take note you western guys!!

Call me cynical but it’s all part of the manipulative, feminised media onslaught against men. How they could make an act out such as this to be positive is beyond me!

Yep, that’s the power of awareness. Unfortunately, lots of people have been rendered unaware because feminism has overshadowed men’s issues. It’s time to raise awareness, make a noise and hopefully amend the levels of acceptability so that this atrocious, barbaric act of abuse is stopped. Only legitimate cases based around sound medical reasons should be permitted.

There is no question, Mike, as to whether or not you should add MGM to the document. It needs to be in there.

    • Thanks – that seems to be the consensus so far. Even the few people whose initial reaction was that MGM shouldn’t be added to the document, changed their mind when they read more about the topic.
