Our public challenge to Nick Baveystock, Director General of the Institution of Civil Engineers

Why is it always a ‘problem’ when men dominate a profession, but never a problem when women do? For many years over 90% of psychology graduates have been women, and nobody bats an eyelid.

Four out of seven unemployed people in the UK are men, yet the state does everything it can to drive up female employment, and as a consequence male unemployment. In the public sector two-thirds of employees are women, yet the Equality Act (2010) allows public sector bodies to favour women over men when recruiting – the invidious ‘positive action’ provision, which is positive discrimination for women in all but name.

Decade after decade of taxpayer-funded social engineering initiatives have led to the feminisation of a number of professions which were historically male-dominated, medicine being an obvious example. 70% of newly-qualified doctors today are women. The NHS is in crisis as a result, as we’ve reported on a number of occasions, while 72% of the income taxes which pay for this insane ‘direction of travel’ are paid by men, just 28% by women.

Clearly it would make no sense to increase the employment of women in male-dominated professions which are not currently in crisis. Yet that’s precisely what government, businesses, and professional bodies have long been working together to deliver.

Which about the professions which women have long been less inclined to pursue? This brings us to engineering, a traditionally male-dominated field, and Nick Baveystock nick.baveystock@ice.org.uk. He’s the Director General of the Institution of Civil Engineers and is on the board of an organisation called WISE http://wisecampaign.org.uk. From their website:

At WISE, our mission is to increase the gender balance in the UK’s STEM workforce, pushing the presence of female employees from 13% as it stands now, to 30% by 2020.

Our services are designed to build and sustain the pipeline of female talent in STEM from classroom to boardroom, boosting the talent pool to drive economic growth.

WISE, which has nearly 30 years experience of inspiring girls to pursue STEM subjects, now incorporates the UKRC, which had a contract from the Government from 2004-12 to increase opportunities for women in science, engineering and technology through support services to business, education and women returners. The UKRC is now an independent Community Interest Company trading as WISE (company number 07533934).

Let’s do some basic maths. By 2020 – just seven years away – this organisation’s ‘mission’ is to more than double the proportion of women in these fields, from 13% to 30%. Put another way, they want the proportion of men in these fields to fall from 87% to 70%. All else being equal, we estimate this would require the number of men working in these fields to fall by 24.2% by 2020.

We’re today making the following public challenge to Nick Baveystock:

Are you aware that by virtue of being on the board of WISE, you’re supporting an initiative with the objective of reducing the number of men working in engineering by 24.2% by 2020? I should like to offer a presentation at ICE to outline why this ‘direction of travel’ will inevitably be highly damaging to the engineering profession, and those who rely upon it.

Hypocrisy, thy name is feminism

Our thanks to Doris for tracking down another excellent piece. This is from the Australian publication Quadrant. It was written by Christopher Akehurst in April 2013, and it compares Margaret Thatcher (who had died shortly before the piece was written) with Julia Gillard, the Australian prime minister at the time:

What do you do when a woman hits you?

The personal testimony of a US marine, whose wife got custody of their children:

Wife boils husband’s body parts in a pressure cooker

An extraordinary story:

Less extraordinarily, the wife was ‘reportedly abused’. Women who kill their partners routinely claim to have been abused, sometimes on the advice of their lawyers. There’s no need for them to provide any corroborative evidence, because as we all know, women never lie. She reportedly lost more than 6kg in weight ‘due to the psychological stress of the alleged crime’. You have to feel more sorry for her than for her husband, don’t you?

Homelessness – poverty on our streets

Across the world the vast majority of homeless people – ‘rough sleepers’ in particular – are men. In the UK, it’s around 90%. Predictably this attracts little interest from the government, indeed a number of state actions and inactions contribute to the male homelessness rate. The state drives up male unemployment through the public sector’s preference for women when recruiting, enshrined in the 2010 Equality Act (2010), despite the following:

– two-thirds of public sector workers are already women

– four out of seven unemployed people are men

– men collectively pay 72% of the income taxes which largely finance the state, and women just 28%

Homelessness increases the risk of death by suicide nine-fold – how can that not be contributing to the fact that for every British woman who commits suicide, three men do? Homelessness also cuts lifespans dramatically, by upwards of 30 years. If 90% of homeless people were women, both women and men would demand the state devote far more resources to the problem. But 90% are men, so neither women nor men collectively are much bothered by the matter.

We’re currently researching homelessness in the UK, and expect to add proposals to our public consultation document in the next two to three months.

I was interested in a piece published today by James Williams for Men’s Matters Radio – James’s YouTube channel is here:

AVfM have picked up the piece, which is about half an hour long, and I strongly recommend it. The interview with Alex, a young homeless man in London, is particularly revealing about the realities of being a homeless man in modern-day Britain:

Jack Vanderkooy, a Canadian, is awarded CAD150,000 (£91,000) damages, and costs, after being the subject of an unsubstantiated sex abuse claim

Our thanks to the estimable Dan Perrins, Ontario News Correspondent of AVfM News, for distilling the key elements of an extraordinary recent case in Canada, and for his customary insightful commentary. It’s a lengthy piece, but well worth reading to the end:

We can but hope that British men, too, will seek compensation for unsubstantiated sex abuse claims. As a result of such claims:

Too many men’s lives have been destroyed.

Too many men have committed suicide.

Feminists are the REAL rape apologists

A thought-provoking new piece on AVfM:

Dean Esmay, AVfM’s Managing Editor, starts his brief introduction as follows:

Female paedophiles, female incest perpetrators, female statutory rape, female rape of adult males and adult females: it’s ‘very rare’, right? No. Try again. The reality is that society is just blind to it, or, when society sees it at all, it excuses it, even laughs at it, or rushes to tell itself and everyone else that it’s ‘unusual’. It isn’t.

The three half-hour-long videos are worth watching, but if you’re pushed for time, the 16-minute-long final video, ‘Conclusions’, distils the main points well.

Feminists relentless and loudly pursue a narrative of RAPISTS = MEN, VICTIMS = WOMEN, ignoring the damage wrought by women sexually assaulting men, women, and children. That’s why we say feminists are the real rape apologists. Men can no more stop a tiny minority of men committing rape, than they can stop a tiny minority of men committing any other heinous crime.

Rape is the feminists’ trump card. By deluding women (and gullible men) that men collectively are responsible for women being raped, they persuade women not to take reasonable precautions, thereby driving up the incidence of rape, feeding the feminist narrative of RAPISTS = MEN, VICTIMS = WOMEN, infantilising women in the process, keeping women scared of men, and therefore angry at them collectively.

On the plus side – for professional feminists, anyway – the feminist narrative keeps thousands of them in employment, generally at taxpayers’ expense.

It’s time women and men recognised the truth:

Men are far better than feminists at protecting women against the threat of rape. They always have… they do now… and they always will.

New campaign to raise £1,000 by September 30, to fund our fourth candidate at the 2015 general election

Good afternoon. We hope you’ve had a restful summer break.

We should like to thank our supporters warmly, and our donors in particular. In July we launched our first ‘crowdfunding campaign’, aiming to raise £1,000 to fund the third of the 30 candidates we plan to field at the 2015 general election. The campaign was scheduled to last 60 days, yet the full sum was raised in just 22 days. Today we’re launching a new campaign, more on this shortly.

Recently we’ve been working even longer hours than usual, helping a television documentary maker understand the assaults on men’s and boys’ interests in the modern era, and the malign influence exerted by militant feminists and their collaborators. Along with a small number of others with an interest in these matters, I expect to be filmed shortly for that documentary, possibly in the context of a ’round table’ discussion. The programme will be broadcast on national television in the New Year, and to the best of my knowledge it will be the first time feminism has been critiqued on a mainstream British television channel in the modern era.

The public appetite to challenge feminism is growing across the world. A number of prominent Canadian ‘honey badgers’ – anti-feminist women – have been interviewed on television. In the United States Paul Elam, founder and publisher of ‘A Voice for Men’ http://avoiceformen.com, arguably the most influential men’s human rights website in the world, was interviewed last week for the ABC television programme 20/20. The show regularly attracts 50+ million viewers.

We believe that in time, as J4MB becomes able to fund more candidates at the 2015 general election, we’ll attract more media attention. In the light of this, we’re today launching our new crowdfunding campaign, to fund our fourth candidate. We’ve set a tighter deadline than last time, 30 days, and the deadlines will have to become yet tighter as we approach the 2015 general election, now just 20 months away. If the £1,000 target isn’t met by 30 September, your donation will be refunded in full. You can donate through the following link by credit card, debit card, or PayPal:

We alerted a few donors to this new campaign a few hours ago, and we’re delighted to see that Doris M, one of J4MB’s most stalwart and generous supporters since it was registered as a political party, has already made a donation (£25.00). Doris, thank you. You’re a star.

If you’d rather make a donation by cheque, please make it out to ‘Justice for men & boys’ and send it to Justice for men & boys, PO Box 2220, Bath BA1 1AA.

Thank you for your support, and for seeking to ensure that men & boys (and the women who love them) enjoy a brighter future.

Best wishes,

Mike Buchanan

To pee or not to pee: Women sell positive pregnancy tests on Craigslist for $25 each. There’s no shortage of motivated buyers.

Recently we posted a link to an article by a British journalist who freely admitted she’d tried to become pregnant by using the contents of her two ex-husbands’ used condoms shortly after sex, without their knowledge or consent. Our thanks to a valued lady supporter for pointing us to this piece:

So manipulative women have invented NON-paternity fraud, and will doubtless profit from it, whether as sellers of ‘positive’ pregnancy tests, or as the buyers, using them to manipulate men into marrying them. Shortly after they marry, many of these women will claim they’ve had a ‘spontaneous’ abortion, and in due course engineer the breakdown of the relationship and walk away with the house and half the man’s assets. Quite a payback from paying a pregnant woman $25 to urinate on a stick and post it, isn’t it?

And of course there’ll be no proof she’s been deceitful, the evidence having been destroyed. But if the man has any sense, he’ll be suspicious, and certainly not fall for the same trick again. And so the relationships between men and women generally become a little more difficult. Do women collectively have no sense that they’re storing up a great deal of resentment in men through such deceits, and this partly explains why more men are choosing to going their own way, with every year that passes? It would seem not.

[Update 2 September 2013. On EBay’s UK website, 18 ‘positive tests’ were available, almost all from Canada:

Almost all are sold from Canada, and described as ‘jokes’ / ‘pranks’. Yeah, right…]
